Officially Ten!!

So it's official.
I have a ten year old.
I feel slightly really old.

The party isn't until Luke returns home...

But none the less we still had to do just a wee bit of celebrating today:

Today Jalen received more mail than I did. A couple cards, and a pkg! Her day also included multiple phone calls, instant messages, a couple emails and the highlight was a birthday video sent from dad {while away on travels}...and she treasured every minute of it!!

She got to open one present before school, a new dress, and insisted on wearing it to school.

Birthday mornings to McDonald's have become a recent fave.

Red white and blue donuts were her special b-day school treats request.

We didn't go out today...just stayed home and had a low key afternoon. I even managed to squeeze in couple hrs painting while the kids enjoyed the sprinkler. Wow. 70 degree weather for 1st Qtr bdays, 80 degree weather for 2nd Qtr birthdays...what's that suggesting for our 3rd quarter bday???

After dinner, we stuck a candle inside some jell-o pudding for dessert and the siblings enjoyed singing to her. She opened her birthday pkg after getting home, and it was the perfect way to end her day...the next book in her series she's currently reading. She was delighted!
